The whole tomatoes of the ancient Re Umberto variety, also known as Fiascone, are just as nature intended them to be. Selected and picked by hand along the terraces of the Amalfi Coast, they are chosen and placed one by one in glass jars with the addition of the puree, as per the ancient recipe handed down to us. The whole tomato retains all its deliciousness. Ideal for any type of tomato-based dish.

The King Umberto, or Fiascone, grows in the uncontaminated soils of the Amalfi Coast. Harvested since 1878, and then disappeared from the fields, it is now back thanks to the few farmers in Tramonti who have kept the seeds. “Re Fiascone” is the result of crowdfunding by Acarbio, with the contribution of CREA-ORT Pontecagnano, an RGV-FAO project. It is a red-purple tomato with an intense flavour and velvety taste. Excellent as a pizza sauce and condiments.
